What a Typical Catholic or Lutheran School Day Looks Like

Most Catholic and Lutheran schools book Tim for a full day, plus an evening Family Night. Here's what that typically looks like.

Right when it feels like the day is wrapping up, Tim breaks the news.

There’s more magic. More music. More fun. Even a brand new puppet character waiting backstage.

But it looks like they’re out of time.

The kids groan.

Then Tim smiles: “I have a surprise. I’m coming back tonight with a brand new show at 6pm. It’s for your whole family, and EVERYONE IS INVITED.”

[cue kids cheering!]

Tim provides a great experience for families and all ages of students. Our K-8th graders loved Tim's interaction and comedy. All three shows were filled with laughter & smiles.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can Tim reference God or faith during the show?

Yes, in a general way. Although Tim doesn't do this in public schools, he has also worked in many churches, and for Catholic and Lutheran schools specifically, he speaks about loving God and loving others, and about how every person matters because we're made in the image of God.

  • Messages also center on kindness, honesty, respect, and responsibility
  • Nothing in the show conflicts with Catholic or Lutheran values
  • Tim can work in your school's specific motto, mission statement, or Catholic Schools Week / Lutheran Schools Week theme if you'd like

Do you recommend one daytime show or two?

Definitely two, if your school spans a wide grade range.

  • The elementary and middle school assemblies are about 90% different shows
  • First graders and eighth graders are in different worlds, and each gets a show built for their age
  • Younger grades get a Disney-style, high-energy, produced show with a theme song
  • Older grades get a David Blaine-style show, personal stories and mentalism that connects at that age

Is this good for Catholic Schools Week or Lutheran Schools Week?

Yes, it's one of the most popular times to book.

  • Many schools make it an annual tradition tied to that week
  • Works just as well outside that week too, no need to wait for a specific date

Is this "kids' magic," like a birthday party clown?

Not even close.

  • Tim is a comedian, actor, magician, and ventriloquist with a real theater background
  • Built for a Catholic or Lutheran school assembly, not a birthday party
  • The magic is strong, the comedy is smart

Does Tim have good audience management?

Yes, it's one of his specialties.

  • Tim wrote a book on it, called Perform
  • His rule: "If you have a behavior problem in your show, you probably have an engagement problem in your show"
  • Behavior issues are rare because kids stay locked in from start to finish

Do we have to book Family Night too?

No, the daytime assembly stands completely on its own.

  • Many schools add Family Night anyway, since it genuinely builds community
  • Kids love coming back that same night with their parents
  • It's a show adults enjoy just as much as kids do
  • Tim is an expert with large family audiences, and honestly, it's his favorite part of the day

Where do you perform?

Chicagoland is home base, with regular travel throughout Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin.

  • National experience beyond that too, 43 states, including two performances at the White House

How far in advance should we book a Catholic school assembly or Lutheran school assembly?

A few months to a full school year out is typical.

  • Catholic Schools Week and Lutheran Schools Week dates fill up especially early
  • Reach out as soon as your dates are set

Is Tim insured?

Yes, full liability coverage, certificate available on request.

  • Everything else, agreement, W-9, arrival guide, custodian setup sheet, lives in your school's private portal
